d.p.c. by Dora Yim is a timeless lifestyle brand priced for an intelligent clientele. It honors the simple yet classic tastes of its CEO and designer, Dora Yim.
Desiring a stylish ensemble at an affordable price, Dora went looking for one. What she found was either exquisite but unattainable financially, or very affordable, but lacking in style and quality. Dora wanted to create a design culture that featured simple aesthetics with classic lines that would compliment a woman's figure and boost her self esteem.
d.p.c. by Dora Yim was launched in June of 2011 as an independent brand with ready-to-wear designs and accessories for women.
Dora is often influenced by images and colors she experiences in nature and the urban jungle, as well as by her love of travel and the music that accompanies her as she travels across the globe. This is often seen in her clean and fluid lines that at first seem simple, but when inspected further, show a great love and respect for the details of design. Simple classic design almost always takes more thought and effort to create.
Dora attended BYU in Hawaii and attained an accounting degree with a few courses in design. She moved to New York City to start a career in accounting, but after several years in the accounting world, she realized her true passion would not leave her. She left her promising career in accounting to pursue a career in fashion full time. Moving to Dallas in 2010 allowed her the work space and time to hone her skills and solidify her ideas. Born and raised in Hong Kong, schooled in Hawaii, worked in New York City, Dora now resides in Dallas, Texas with her husband.
Dora's belief remains the same, "Clothes should be like a friend, and last a lifetime."
